The 23rd in my series of Botanical Memories. Using the ecoprinting technique, petals from flowers grown in my garden are imprinted into the silk habotai. Some botanics print quite distinctly and others create more vague shapes, giving a lovely ethereal and watercolour quality.
This selection is composed of shades of grey, black and rust on a green background. Due the random placement of the petals, and their individual reactions to the dyeing process, each ribbon is completely unique. The photographs show an example of the variations in two ribbons.
Available in one type of silk:Habotai: a soft, smooth, lightweight silk with a lovely shimmer and drape. Torn and frayed for that natural look.
