The 25th in my series of Botanical Memories. Using the ecoprinting technique, petals from flowers grown in my garden are imprinted into the silk habotai. Some botanics print quite distinctly and others create more vague shapes, giving a lovely ethereal and watercolour quality, as in this case.
This selection is composed of a base of a pale pinky brown with patches of lilac, warm brown and biscuit. Due to the random placement of the petals, and their individual reactions to the dyeing process, each ribbon is completely unique. The photographs show an example of the markings in one length.
Available in one type of silk:Habotai: a soft, smooth, lightweight silk with a lovely shimmer and drape. Torn and frayed for that natural look.
