The fourth in my series of Botanical Memories. Using the ecoprinting technique, leaves and flowers from my garden and local area are imprinted into the silk habotai. Some botanics print quite distinctly and others create more vague shapes, giving a lovely ethereal and painterly quality. This fourth selection is composed of a pale lilac/grey background with splashes of subtle green, brown, orange and yellow.
The photographs show the silk before and after being hand torn into ribbons. Due to the random placement of the leaves and flowers, and their individual reactions to the dyeing process, each ribbon is completely unique.Available in one type of silk:
Habotai: a soft, smooth, lightweight silk with a lovely shimmer and drape. Torn and frayed for that natural look.
